  • This ticket is for OCA Members - this means you work at an OCA Accredited or Provisional Camp or Outdoor Education Centre, are an individual member, an Honorary Life Member, or staff at an OCA Affiliate.

We are excited to host our 2024 OCA Health Conference at a new location, Trafalgar Castle School in Whitby, ON. The Health Conference provides professional development opportunity for camp and outdoor education health care providers and camp directors or any staff members looking to learn more about health care operations at camp and how to better support your health centre staff! The conference takes place on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Who is this conference for? 

  • A new or returning camp nurse or health care centre staff looking to update their knowledge of camp health care.
  • A camp director or any staff member looking to learn more about health care operations at camp and how to better support your health centre staff.
  • A health care professional who is interested in professional development, and the opportunity to learn more about the ins and outs of health care in a camp setting.

Who are we? 

The OCA is made of camp and outdoor education industry professionals committed to maintaining the highest standard of camping. Our Members adhere to more than 600 Health and Safety Standards designed to ensure the safety of campers and staff.

We offer professional development events to our Members, however, our door is always open for non-members who, like us, are dedicated to the health and well-being of campers and participants of outdoor education!

About Your Ticket 

All ticket types are priced per person: 

  • OCA Member - $110 +HST 
  • OCA Member Student/HLM - $85 + HST 
  • Non-Member - $130 + HST
  • Non-Member Student - $105 + HST  

Lunch is included in all ticket types. No walk-in tickets will be available. 

How to Use Your 10% Membership Renewal Discount 

If you completed your Membership Renewal by September 30, 2023, you are able to use your 10% discount for this event. To use the discount, please follow these steps:

  • Complete your registration but STOP at the payment step.
  • Select "Invoice Me".
  • Send an email to events@ontariocamps.ca and let us know you'd like to use the discount. We will amend the invoice.
  • Complete payment.

This discount cannot be applied after payment, no refunds will be given. Please note that this is a one-time discount, if you used your discount for the OCA Connects 2024 Conference you cannot use it for the OCA Health Conference. 

About Registration 

All ticket types are priced per person. If you have a question about the best ticket type for your professional development goals, or have a question about financial assistance, please contact events@ontariocamps.ca.

If you are registering for multiple people and multiple ticket types (ex. Member and Student tickets) please PAUSE YOUR REGISTRATION and reach out to the OCA Office at events@ontariocamps.ca. Please include in the email the number of people who are registering and the ticket types.

If you are an administrator for your organization and are registering for others, please include the delegates information during registration to ensure they receive future communications about the OCA Health Conference.

Refund requests submitted before Wednesday, March 27, 2024 will incur a 20% administration fee. Any refund requests submitted Thursday, March 28, 2024 or later will incur a 40% administration fee. Any questions about refunds? Please email events@ontariocamps.ca

About the Venue 

Trafalgar Castle School is an all-girls, independent day and boarding school located in the heart of downtown Whitby, ON. It can be reached by local transit, ride-share and taxi services. Close proximity to the 401 and Whitby GO station. Parking is available on site and is free. 

Accommodations

Holiday Inn Express Whitby Oshawa and Residence Inn Whitby are both a short drive way from Trafalgar Castle School. Please note OCA does not have a reservation at these hotels and cannot offer any discounted rates.

Dining Options

A continental breakfast, hot lunch and afternoon snacks will be included with registration. Coffee and tea will be available through the day. Please bring a refillable water bottle. OCA will be selling new and vintage health care t-shirts at the Health Conference. Credit card payments only. More information coming soon!

Recordings and Resources 

This conference is not recorded. Any slides/resources provided to the OCA from speakers will be sent to registrants post-conference.
